Historically, we have made medical relief trips to North Carolina, Honduras,Nicaragua, Romania,
Transnistria, New Orleans, Sierra Leone and the West Bank. Our volunteers often
have medical backgrounds, but non-medical people are welcome as
well. For many volunteers, these trips can be a life changing
experience.
We are preparing for a March 2021 migrant worker relief effort in North Carolina. The need for health interventions in this population is very significant. The hurricanes of the past few years have seriously impacted this vulnerable population. We are coordinating with the University of North Carolina, the Red Cross and county agencies to address health screening, housing rehabilitaion and mental health issues. The areas we will be targeting have historically been amoung the poorest areas of North Carolina.
